Napa Police Log

From the Napa Police Department. All times are approximate.

7 a.m.: Roberto Gomez-Ortega, 35, was a passenger in a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, officers saw Ortega remove a glass pipe (used for smoking methamphetamine) from his shoe and try to conceal it in the passenger area of the vehicle. Ortega was placed under arrest for possession of paraphernalia. Searched incident to arrest, Ortega was found to be in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine.

4:30 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of vandalism in the 1600 block of Pear Tree Lane. Citizens reported that Adrian Peschl, 32, was intoxicated and wandering around the neighborhood on a bike. Peschl was later seen striking a car side view mirror with his fist, causing it to break. When contacted by police, he tried to run into his home, but was quickly apprehended. Peschl was placed under arrest for public intoxication, vandalism, and resisting arrest.

4:30 p.m.: Orlando Cervantes, 23, was contacted during a traffic stop in the 200 block of Soscol Avenue. Cervantes was stopped for vehicle code violations and found to be a wanted parolee. During a search of Cervantes’ vehicle, officers found a loaded handgun concealed under the passenger seat of the vehicle. Cervantes was arrested for possession of a loaded firearm, ex-felon in possession of a firearm, and for the state parole hold/warrant.

5 p.m.: 25-year-old Fray Zapata and 38-year-old Santiago Hernandez attempted to pass fraudulent checks at La Tapatia Market on Brown Street. Store employees notified police and delayed the transaction. Officers arrived on scene and arrested both parties.

6 p.m.: Andrew Boos, 26, was stopped for riding his bicycle with no headlamp in the area of Second Street and Seymour Street. Boos was found to be on probation with search and seizure terms. While conducting a probation search, Boos was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and placed under arrest.
