Napa Police: Hit-Run Lands Man in Jail, Woman in Hospital

A 33-year-old Benicia man was arrested and his female passenger treated for injuries after they allegedly ran from a reported car crash in Napa Saturday afternoon, according to a shift activity log from the :

On 9-15-12 at 1350 hours NPD Officers were dispatched to a single vehicle accident (vehicle into the side of the bridge) on Soscol Ave north of Kansas Ave.

Witnesses reported seeing the male and female from the vehicle running down Old Adobe Way off of Soscol Ave.

The male and female were detained by police on Old Adobe Way.

The male admitted to driving and running from the scene because he was scared. The female admitted to being the passenger.

The female had visible injuries from the accident and complained of pain. She was transported to the with non-life threatening injuries.

The male, Timothy Rutledge (33 year old Benicia resident) was arrested for felony hit and run.

He was transported and booked into  without incident.
