A 43-year-old Napa man was jailed New Year's Eve after a traffic stop at about 1:30 p.m., according to an arrest summary from the City of Napa Police Department:
An officer contacted Gerardo Ayala (43 yrs. of Napa) in the 100 block of Newell Cir., after the officer saw him driving on Solano Ave.
The officer recognized Ayala from previous contacts and remembered that Ayala had a suspended driver’s license.
While speaking with Ayala, the officer noticed Ayala displayed signs of being under the influence of alcohol. After evaluating him, the officer determined Ayala was impaired while driving.
The officer also learned that Ayala was on probation out of Napa County and that his license was suspended due to a prior driving while under the influence (DUI).
Ayala was arrested and transported to the Napa County Department of Corrections, where he was booked.
Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.
