Napa Police Department Applies for $19K in JAG Funds

News from the City of Napa:

The Napa Police Department is applying on behalf of the City of Napa for a U.S. Department of Justice Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Grant (JAG) in the amount of $18,716. 

JAG funds can be used for local initiatives, technical assistance, training, personnel, equipment, supplies, contractual support and information systems for criminal justice.

Per grant application requirements, the applicant must provide an assurance that the application or any future amendment was made public and an opportunity to comment was provided to citizens and to neighborhood community organizations.

The 2014 JAG grant if funded will be used to purchase a software program designed for law enforcement to search multiple social media platforms, fund the annual maintenance for an analytics program and help fund some training costs.

 These funding requests will improve the skills and efficiencies to help us better serve the community.
