Napa Police: Dad Nabbed at SFO with Abducted Kids

Despite a court order preventing the children from leaving Napa, he was planning to take them to Jordan, police said. Arrest information provided by the Napa Police Department does not indicate a conviction.

On 7/12/11, at 1109 hours, investigators from the Napa Police Department and the Napa County District Attorney’s Office responded to a reported parental abduction that occurred in the 700 block of Joseph Court, Napa.

Investigators were advised that Ahmad Alwawi took his 4 year old and 1 year old daughters out of Napa County in violation of a recent court order that specifically prohibited the children from being taken outside Napa County.

It was discovered Alwawi traveled to the San Francisco International Airport and was preparing to take his children out of the country to Amman, Jordan.

Homeland Security and the San Francisco Police Department Airport Division were notified and Alwawi was detained at the airport with his children.

Investigators from Napa took custody of 30-year-old Alwawi at the airport and brought him back to town, where he was booked at the , according to the release.

Police said the little girls were unharmed and were returned to their family in Napa.
