Weekend Arrests for Drug Use, Domestic Violence
Napa police officers made arrests for domestic violence and drug possession over the weekend
Napa police officers made arrests during the weekend for drug use, domestic violence and for threatening an officer.
Drug bust -- Rebecca Walker, 50, of Napa, was stopped by an officer around 2 p.m. Sunday while on her bicycle in the 200 block of Redwood Road. Walker displayed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. A search of her person revealed methamphetamine packaged for sales, according to the police log, and she was placed under arrest.
Domestic violence arrests --
-- Officers responded early Sunday morning to the 1400 block of Perkins Street. for a report of a domestic violence incident in progress. Officers contacted one person who had visible injuries to his face and head. Elizabeth Lopez, 30, of Napa, had fled the scene and was not able to be located at that time. Officers were dispatched again to the residence just before noon and contacted Lopez, who was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, according to police.
--Officers were called out at 11:30 pm Friday to the 2200 block of Clay Street on a domestic violence report. Eduardo Avalos Mendez, 27, of Napa, and another individual were reportedly involved in a fight that resulted in Mendez striking the other person in the face and grabbing the person by the throat. Mendez was placed under arrest.

Threats against an officer -- A Napa man reportedly threatened a police officer who had responded to a Thursday afternoon argument near downtown Napa. Officers were dispatched around 3 p.m. to the area of Randolph and Fourth streets for a report of a verbal argument. Michael Baker, 37, of Napa, was being searched when he pulled away from the officer and an altercation ensued. Baker was handcuffed and made statements that he was going to find the officer and harm him. Baker was arrested on suspicion felony criminal threats and resisting arrest with great violence.
