Napa Police: Arrested Man ID'd for Enfamil Burglary

It's the second arrest in less than a week for stealing baby formula. Information from the Napa Police Department does not indicate convictions.

A Vallejo man, arrested Thursday on suspicion of stealing more than $900 in merchandise from a north Napa retailer, now faces a second count of burglary, according to a shift activity log released Saturday morning by the :

On 08/18/11 NPD Officers responded to a report of a subject, later identified as Raymond Pierre Hewitt (1/9/93) of Vallejo, who stole over $900 worth of goods from the Bel Aire store.

When confronted by store employees Hewitt fled on foot, leaving the merchandise behind.

He was located in the area by NPD Officers and store employees and after a short foot chase he was taken into custody. Hewitt was booked into .

On 08/19/11 an NPD Officer was dispatched to at 681 Lincoln Ave. regarding a prior theft.

Upon arrival Loss Prevention Agents reported the theft of over $1,500.00 of Enfamil infant formula which occurred on 08/17/11.

The suspects got away but Loss Prevention Agents provided surveillance footage of the suspects.

Officers recognized Hewitt as one of the suspects.

The Officer contacted Hewitt who was still in custody at NCDC for the theft from Target.

Hewitt admitted to the theft at Walmart after being shown the video surveillance footage.

Hewitt was booked on an additional count of burglary. The other suspect remains unidentified.

This is the second Enfamil burglary Napa police have reported in the past week. On Aug. 13, for stealing the pricey baby formula from Target in Bel Aire Plaza.
