Partners in crime ended up being partners in handcuffs.
Napa Police arrested 26-year-old Ruben Villafan and 24-year-old Jose Gonzalez on suspicion of possessing stolen property on Monday night.
According to a police shift activity log, police responded to a call at the Napa Bowl around 8:45 p.m. Monday about a stolen 1991 Honda Accord. Officers later found the vehicle on the 2700 block of Sonoma Street, and watched it for an hour. Police witnessed Villafan and Gonzalez going into the vehicle and removing items from it. When police witnessed one of the men getting into the driver’s seat, they converged on the vehicle. Officers detained both Gonzalez and Villafan and did a probation search of the residence they had entered.
Both Villafan and Gonzalez have been booked into the Napa County Jail.
