Napa Police Arrest 5 On Suspicion Of DUI

Special patrol ran from 6 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday.

Napa Police Officers arrested five people on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol during a special patrol Saturday evening.

 The officers were participating in the STEP Grant awarded to the Napa Police Department which is a grant funded by OTS.

Five officers worked this operation from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., resulting in 48 vehicle stops in the City of Napa. During these vehicle stops, officers noticed 11 of the drivers displayed symptoms of alcohol use.

The 11 drivers were evaluated and 5 of them were arrested for DUI related violations.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
