Napa Police: Tattooed Jeans Thief Arrested

The Raiders tattoo on his neck helped ID the pants-snatcher, according to the latest media log from the Napa Police Department.

A 35-year-old Napa man was arrested Monday after he was identified as having stolen a pair of jeans from a downtown department store, according to a media log released Tuesday morning by the Napa Police Department:

On 5/16/11 at approximately 1600 hours, the suspect went in to Kohl’s Department Store on First St and took a pair of jeans into the changing room. The suspect removed the security tags with some wire cutters and left the store. Store security provided a description of the suspect including the Raider tattoo on his neck and a vehicle description. Based upon the description, officers recognized the suspect as Ruben Vilafan (35 yrs.). Vilafan was located driving in the area of Seminary St and Napa St a short time later. Vilafan was identified by store security as the person responsible for the theft.

Vilafan was arrested for burglary and booked at the , according to the police log.
