Napa PD: Suspicious Package was Harmless

Evacuated Browns Valley residents were able to return home by noon, according to police.

Napa Police evacuated residents of the 3400 block of Twin Oaks Drive after a report of a suspicious package Friday morning, according to a media release:

On 4/15/11 at approximately 0920 hours, the responded to the 3400 block of Twin Oaks concerning a suspicious package.

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a small package wrapped in newspaper in the homeowners mailbox.

The scene was cordoned off and nearby residents were evacuated.

The Napa Sheriff’s Office Explosives Team responded to the scene and deemed the package safe.

Residents were able to return to their homes by the noon hour.

Browns Valley resident Cathy Felder, who observed the police action and snapped several photos with her iPhone, said the package proved to be a glass vase wrapped in newspaper.
