Napa PD: Naked Man Getting Into Cars, Trying Front Door, Rolling In Bushes; Bike Assault

Shawn Miranda, 44 of Napa, was arrested May 1 for alleged domestic violence and court-order violation after pushing a woman off her bike about noon on the 3200 block of Jefferson Street, police said.

A witness reported seeing a male pushing a female off her bike, causing minor injuries and then continuing to follow and yell at her, according to the Napa Police Department.

Police investigators said Miranda assaulted the victim causing visible minor injuries and that there was a valid restraining order preventing contact. Police said the suspect was arrested without incident.

A naked man running down D Street Alley and California Boulevard drew police attention last week.

The male on Wednesday was reportedly opening car doors, getting inside vehicles, and even attempted --without luck -- to break in one home's front door, police said.

Officers found the subject, Ryan Mangnall, a 27-year-old transient, in the field south of D Street Alley rolling in the berry bushes and threatening to fight officers at the scene, police said.

After a brief struggle, Mangnall was taken into custody. He displayed signs of intoxication and using a central nervous system stimulant, police said, and after being medically cleared at Queen of the Valley Hospital, was booked into Napa County Detention Center.
