Napa PD: Child Nearly Drowned, Hospitalized at Stanford

Adults performed CPR after 1-year-old was found unconscious at a community pool, according to the Napa Police Department.

Napa’s and departments responded Saturday afternoon to the reported drowning of a child who regained consciousness before they arrived, according to a media log released Monday evening by the Napa Police Department:

On 5/7/11 at approximately 1652 hours, Officers from the Napa Police Department and the Napa Fire Department were dispatched to the community pool area of for a report of a drowning. Dispatch advised the victim (1 year old), was not conscious, and that CPR was in progress. Just prior to police arrival, Dispatch updated the call that the child was conscious after two adults in the apartment complex performed CPR. 

The child was initially transported by ambulance to the emergency room at and then transferred to Stanford Medical Center, according to the police log.
