Napa Man Suffers Major Injuries in Crash with Big-Rig

A Napa man suffered major injuries when his Jeep Cherokee collided with a tractor-trailer on Adobe Road in unincorporated Sonoma County east of Petaluma Monday morning, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
A caller told the CHP around 6:40 a.m. that the Jeep's driver, identified as David Behymer, 69, of Napa, was driving recklessly on state Highway 116, weaving and passing over the double-yellow line, CHP Officer Jon Sloat said.

Less than a minute later, the Jeep collided with the tractor-trailer, which was driven by Anthony Michalek, 56, of Geyserville, on Adobe Road, causing the big-rig to strike a utility pole, Sloat said.
The collision brought down power lines and completely blocked the roadway, Sloat said. The road remained closed as of 3:15 p.m., Sloat said.

Michalek also suffered moderate injuries, and both men were taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Sloat said.
