Napa Man Stabbed in Neck With Screwdriver Monday

A man was arrested for stabbing another man in the neck with a screwdriver early Monday morning, police said today.

The stabbing victim was helping his girlfriend retrieve property from her locked vehicle at an apartment complex in the 2600 block of First Street around 3:15 a.m. Monday, Capt. Jeff Troendly said.

The victim's girlfriend said 20-year-old Antonio Ruben Natal took her car keys and would not give them back, Troendly said.

Natal shoved the girlfriend away when she tried to grab her car keys and then confronted the victim, according to Troendly.

Natal and the victim began fighting and Natal stabbed him in the neck, Troendly said.

Witnesses separated the two men and the stabbing victim went to his apartment and called police, Troendly said.

Natal was arrested at his apartment on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon likely to cause great bodily injury, Troendly said.
