Napa Man, High on Meth, had Stolen Checks, Police Say

A call about a disturbance on Willis Drive led to the arrest of a man on probation, according to Napa police, who said he was under the influence of drugs and in possession of checks stolen from victims in other cities.

 

A 35-year-old man was jailed Friday night after police were called to a north Napa neighborhood for a reported disturbance, according to a shift activity log released by the :

On 06/01/12 about 2115 hours NPD Officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of Willis Dr. regarding a disturbance.

Upon arrival the Officers contacted the suspect, Jesse Sanders 35 years old of Napa, standing next to his parked vehicle.

Officers noticed Sanders displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance and he was subsequently arrested. Sanders was on active Napa County Probation.

A search of his vehicle revealed a glass pipe which contained a useable amount of suspected methamphetamine and checks that were stolen from victims in the cities of Vallejo, Richmond and Martinez. 

Sanders was arrested and booked at the on suspicion of possessing stolen property, possessing a controlled substance and paraphernalia, being under the influence of a controlled substance and violating probation, police said. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.
