Napa Man Had Meth but Not ID, Police Say

A traffic stop led straight to jail for a Napa man arrested after police looking for his driving license discovered meth and a pipe instead, according to the Napa Police Department.

A 25-year-old Napa man identified by police as Jardiel Mendoza was jailed on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and paraphernalia shortly before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest summary from the City of Napa Police Department:

Officers witnessed Mendoza commit several vehicle code violations while driving in the area of Imola Ave. and Freeway Dr.

Officers stopped Mendoza and asked for his driver’s license. Mendoza stated he could not find it and he had no identification on him.

A search of the vehicle for identification resulted in officers finding suspected methamphetamine and a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine within a backpack that was located on the floorboard of the vehicle.

Mendoza was arrested and transported to Napa County Department of Corrections where he was booked.
