By Bay City News Service.

A Napa County jury has convicted a Napa man of murdering his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend in Calistoga in 2009.

Rodolfo Uribe was convicted Thursday of the first-degree murder of 26-year-old Luis Octavio Carrillo with the special circumstance of lying in wait, Napa County Chief Deputy District Attorney Michael O'Reilley said Thursday afternoon.

The jury deliberated for about two days before returning its verdict around 2 p.m. Thursday.

The jury also found Uribe, 25, used an SKS semi-automatic rifle in the June 29, 2009 slaying.

Carrillo had been sitting in Uribe's former girlfriend's car in the 1400 block of North Oak Street when he was killed. His body was found face down on the sidewalk.

The jury also convicted Uribe of shooting at an inhabited vehicle and being a felon in possession of a firearm, O'Reilley said.

The jury acquitted Uribe of kidnapping, false imprisonment and battery on a cohabitant, O'Reilly said.

Uribe could face 60 years to life in prison when he is sentenced April 27, O'Reilley said.

Uribe was arrested in Compton in Southern California on July 8, 2009.
