Napa Man Arrested for Allegedly Threatening Neighbor

A Napa man was arrested Sunday afternoon for allegedly threatening to kill his neighbor because he spit on the ground toward his residence, police said.

Police responded to a report of an argument between two neighbors, one of them armed with a knife, in the 50 block of Westwood Avenue in Napa
around 1:50 p.m.

Responding officers saw 29-year-old John Stanley Sbrega III leave a residence on Westwood Avenue and yell toward his neighbor's residence, police said.

Based on information provided by the police dispatcher, the officers ordered Sbrega to the ground at gunpoint and detained him in handcuffs, police said.

Sbrega had blood on his shirt and a cut on his right pinkie finger, but claimed he cut himself on a cabinet, police said. Officers were unable to locate a knife.

Officers determined Sbrega and his neighbor got into an argument because the neighbor spit on the ground toward Sbrega's residence, police said.

During the argument, Sbrega displayed a knife from inside his house and threatened to kill his neighbor, police said.

Sbrega was arrested on a misdemeanor count of exhibiting a deadly weapon and a felony charge of threatening a crime with intent to terrorize, police said.

He was treated for the cut on his finger at Queen of the Valley Medical Center and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections, police said.
