Police: Napa Gal Forces Herself Into Friend's Apartment, Threatens to Kill Herself

Police say a woman with mental health issues vandalized a friend's car on Wednesday, returned to his apartment the following day and forced her way into his apartment with a tire iron.

A Napa woman went to jail Thursday afternoon after allegedly forcing her way into a friend's apartment with a tire iron.

The bizarre incident took place on Thursday at 4:22 p.m., according to the Napa Police Department, when Chinky Macabeo, 27, forced herself into her friend's apartment on the 2600 block of First Street and threatened to kill herself.

Officers arrived at the apartment and found Macabeo and the male friend sitting on his bed, apart from each other.

The man told police that he was trying to keep Macabeo calm. He told the officers that Macabeo is a friend, but did not have permission to be in the apartment. She used a tire iron to force open the front door, according to police.

Macabeo was taken into custody.

Police say that on the previous night, Wednesday, a neighbor witnessed Macabeo vandalizing her friend's car. Macabeo allegedly pulled out a knife on the neighbor and told her she was going to kill her.

The neighbor, who was holding her 2-year-old son at the time, feared for her life and went into her bedroom. She didn't report the incident to police because she was aware of Macabeo's mental health issues, according to police.

After threatening the neighbor, Macabeo allegedly vandalized the vehicle further.

Macabeo was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of exhibiting a deadly weapon, burglary, criminal threats with the intent to terrorize, and resisting arrest.
