Napa Firefighters Respond to Suicide, Medical Emergency at Apartment Complex

Both calls are in an apartment complex on Winding Way near Silverado Trail.

Two Napa City Fire engines and a battalion chief unit responded this morning to an apartment complex on Winding Way near Silverado Trail in Napa, according to Napa Fire Capt. Ty Becerra.

"There was no fire," Becerra said of the two incidents that started at around 7:30 a.m.

"We had one engine respond to a report of a suicide of an adult male, and the other responded a little later to a report of someone not breathing," he said. "Both calls were at an apartment complex on Winding Way."

According to some broadcast reports, there were at least four fire trucks in the vicinity, but Becerra said it was only three units.

Becerra said he did not have immediate details on the suicide, or on the cause of death.

He said his unit stayed at the complex to assist the fire engine that responded to the "not breathing" report. There was no immediate word on the person who was not breathing, and whether that person survived, Becerra said.

"We had another call and left the scene," he said. "We've had back-to-back calls since 12 a.m. today."
