Between 6 p.m. Saturday and 2 a.m. Sunday, the officers stopped 48 vehicles during the roving DUI patrols. The patrols, part of the Avoid the 9 program, were timed to coincide with the weekend of the Napa Town and Country Fair, according to a police department press release.

The officers evaluated eight drivers who had symptoms of alcohol or drug use and two of those drivers were arrested for DUI-related violations. Another driver had their vehicle towed and impounded for 30 days because they were driving with a suspended license.
