"Missile Sized" Windmill Parts Travel Through City
The mysterious cargo you might have noticed traveling through town late at night is headed for the wind farm at Rio Vista, according to the CHP.

Do you have any idea why oversize trucks with flashing police escort are routinely carrying missile sized objects down Soscol and Highway 29 around 11 p.m. several nights in the past few weeks. What are they? Any idea?

The huge, rocket-resembling objects are blades for the giant wind machines that dot the rolling hills east of Interstate 80 and Highway 12.
“The windmill parts are stored at Napa Pipe and are being transferred to the Rio Vista area,” said CHP Officer Jaret Paulson.

The new equipment joins hundreds of wind turbines in the Montezuma Hills outside Rio Vista, installed to provide renewable energy for several different utility projects.
