Man Shot in Reported Carjacking Attempt, Police Say

A 40-year-old Santa Rosa man was shot in what he said was a carjacking attempt in the Westwood neighborhood Friday evening, according to a press release from the City of Napa Police Department:

On 12/09/2011 at 6:39 PM Officers were dispatched to the for a reported subject that had come into the Emergency Room with a gunshot wound. 

Officers contacted the victim, an adult male, who was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his arm.

The victim reported that he was driving in the Westwood area, possibly in the area of Freeway Dr. and 1st St. when he was confronted by several subjects who demanded his vehicle. 

The victim did not comply with their demands and the suspects fired at him, striking him in the left arm.

The victim drove himself to the Queen of the Valley for treatment where he was treated and later released.

 The victim was driving a yellow Ford Van at the time of the incident.
