Man Leads Cops on Chase Before Arrest
Reported for "acting bizarre" with a gun, he jumped over fences, climbed a roof and entered an occupied home, police said. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.
A 27-year-old Napa man led police on a chase through the Bel Aire neighborhood in north Napa Wednesday evening before they were able to arrest him on a string of weapons, drug and other charges, according to a shift activity log from the :
On 02/08/12 about 1850 hours, NPD Officers responded to a residence in the 3500 block of Mariposa Court regarding a subject armed with firearms who was acting bizarre.
The subject was James Edward Cull 27 years old of Napa.

Cull was on Felony Probation out of Napa County with search and seizure terms and not to possess firearms.
Upon the Officer’s arrival, a perimeter was established around Cull’s residence.

Cull was seen jumping over his rear fence and Officers attempted to apprehend him.
Cull was able to elude Officers for a brief period of time by jumping over fences into neighboring yards in the area of Tamalpais Street/Cascade Street and even climbing onto the roof of a residence in the 3500 block of Cascade St.
While Cull was attempting to evade officers, he unsuccessfully attempted to enter an occupied residence in the 3500 block of Mariposa Court.
Cull was eventually taken into custody by NPD Officers.
Cull was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
A rifle and credit cards that had been reported stolen were located in an area under Cull’s control inside of his residence.
Cull was booked at the on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, being under the influence of a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm, attempted residence burglary, possession of stolen property, obstructing and resisting peace officers and violation of probation, according to police.
