A Santa Rosa man was killed Saturday in Sonoma County following a single-vehicle crash, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The identity of the 62-year-old man has not been released. The CHP responded around 6:36 p.m. to the intersection of Arnold Drive and Verano Avenue after a report of a vehicle crashing into a power pole.
Investigators said the driver was unresponsive when emergencies crews arrived. Emergency had to wait for PG&E to arrive at the scene, because power lines and transformer oil were covering the vehicle after the crash, according to the CHP.
After PG&E cleared the power lines, emergency crews determined the driver had died.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
