Man Jailed for Alleged Child Rape

An investigation into sexual misconduct with a juvenile led to Tuesday's bust at the man's home, according to police. Arrest information from the Napa Police Department does not indicate a conviction.

A 49-year-old Napa man was arrested on suspicion of statutory rape, prostitution and drug possession Tuesday, according to information released Wednesday by the :

On 1-31-2012 the Napa Police Department Investigations Division served a search warrant at 2071 West Lincoln Ave, the home of Ty Cook (dob 6-30-62) in regards to an investigation about sexual misconduct involving a juvenile victim.

The juvenile victim had engaged in sexual intercourse and oral copulation with Cook who paid the victim money for receiving sex. During the investigation at his home on West Lincoln Ave, methamphetamine packaged for sale was located in a desk with a loaded handgun.

Cook was arrested and booked at .

The police report did not indicate the victim’s age, but among the charges listed in the police report are violations of section 288 of the state penal code, regarding sex acts with a child younger than 14; penal code section 261.5, unlawful sex with a minor, also known as statutory rape and penal code section 647, engaging in prostitution.

According to a report in the , Cook is the administrator of Napa County Emergency Medical Services and has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an administrative investigation by the county.
