Man Arrested on Accusations of Sexually Abusing 2 Children 24 Years Ago

Children were 12 and 13 at the time of the alleged abuse.

  
A 51 year old Vallejo man was arrested by Napa Police on suspicion of sexually abusing two children in Napa between 1989 and 1990.

 Jeffrey Allen Smith was taken into custody Wednesday 1000 block of Azevedo Ranch Road in Vallejo on suspion of felony sexual penetration with force and felony lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14.

According to the police log, Napa police detectives on Oct. 10, at a location in the 1900 block of Stockton Street in Napa, followed up on a report of sexual abuse that occurred in Napa between 1989 and 1990.

During the investigation, two victims, now in their 30s, stated they were sexually abused by Smith.

One person was 12 and the other 13 at the time of the assaults. Additional evidence was gathered and an arrest warrant was issued for Smith.

On Wednesday at 3:20 p.m., detectives and Napa Police Department Special Enforcement Unit officers contacted Smith at his residence in the 1000 block of Azevedo Ranch Road in Vallejo.

Smith was arrested without incident. In addition to the sexual abuse allegations, Smith was also arrested for an outstanding warrant for drug violations out of Orange County.

Smith was transported to Napa Police Department for additional questioning and later booked at the Napa County Department of Corrections.

The investigation is still ongoing and there may be additional victims.
