Lake Hennessey Murder Victim ID'd as Missing Man Last Seen at Napa 7-Eleven!

The Napa County Sheriff's Office has identified a body found near Lake Hennessey on Friday as Reynaldo Pacheco, 44, of Santa Rosa.
  
Pacheco's SUV was last seen March 24 on surveillance video in front of a 7-Eleven store at 2906 First St. in Napa.

Investigators believe Pacheco was kidnapped by Miguel Angel Garcia, the 32-year-old Napa man who died during a standoff at a Kenwood trailer on Wednesday, sheriff's Capt. Steve Blower said this morning.

Pacheco's wife, Rosa Elorza Pacheco, reported her husband missing to the Santa Rosa Police Department on March 25, Blower said.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office took over the missing person investigation on March 27 because Pacheco lived in the 3500 block of Santa Rosa Avenue in unincorporated Sonoma County, Blower said.

Garcia allegedly took Pacheco to Napa County, where he killed him, Blower said.

The captain did not disclose how Pacheco was killed.
  
He said the body was identified using fingerprints and records from the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
  
Garcia was wanted on a warrant by Napa County authorities for child endangerment, firearm and narcotic charges.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office's special operations unit tried to serve Garcia an arrest warrant at the Kenwood trailer in the 200 block of Hoff Road on April 1, but it led to a 19-hour standoff.

During the standoff, Garcia confessed to committing several violent crimes including murder and also said he wanted to kill himself or create a situation where he would be killed by law enforcement, Sonoma County sheriff's Lt. Bret Sackett said.

Sonoma County authorities notified Napa County law enforcement about Garcia's statements and sheriff's detectives then found Pacheco's body in a rural area not visible from a road on Friday, Blower said.

After the Sonoma County sheriff's SWAT team fired tear gas into the trailer, Garcia fired back from inside the trailer, Sackett said. Garcia then appeared near the front door of the trailer, and the SWAT team "engaged the suspect with their weapons," Sackett said.

Garcia fell to the ground and died at the scene, Sackett said. Petaluma police are investigating the standoff incident and on Monday said the preliminary determination of an autopsy indicates Garcia died of a single, close-contact self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
