Hwy 12 Reopened After Dump Truck Mishap

Highway 12 near the Napa and Solano county line was closed in both directions for about an hour Tuesday evening because of an overturned dump truck on the road, according to the California Highway Patrol. Reported by Bay City News Service.

Updated 7 p.m.

State Route 12 near the Napa and Solano county line has reopened in both directions this evening after an overturned dump truck closed the highway for about an hour, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision, between Interstate Highway 80 and state Route 29, was reported at 5:36 p.m.

The dump truck was not carrying a load at the time, and appears to be the only vehicle that crashed. A big-rig tow truck was called to the scene to upright the truck and clear it from the road.

A Sig-alert was issued at 6:03 p.m. advising motorists that the road was closed and that traffic was diverted around the area. It was cancelled at 6:45 p.m.

No injuries were reported.

Idiot! 3 1/2 hour commute tonight because of him!

That stinks. I think I'd be flirting with insanity after the three-hour mark. What do you do in a situation like that? Radio, music, phone?
Valerie Mull July 11, 2012 at 05:14 AM
Grrrrrrrrrr. THANKS CalTrans!!!!! Flirting with insanity is an apt description. At least no one was hurt.

Way to open with a nice turn of a phrase, Louisa!

Thank you, John. Valerie, I scraped by on freelancing for years because I could not stand commuting any more!
