Heroin, Methamphetamine Alleged in Napa Arrests

One man fled on a bicycle but was later arrested at his home, according to the Napa Special Investigations Bureau. Arrest information does not indicate convictions.

Drug agents with the Napa Special Investigations Bureau, assisted by Napa city police, busted two men Friday, according to an arrest summary provided by the Napa County Sheriff's Office:

NSIB agents received information that Rodney Forbes (age 44) was selling controlled substances in Napa County.

On Friday, (01.04.13) at about 2:15 (pm) agents were conducting surveillance on Forbes when they saw him engage in a hand to hand drug transaction with another subject (identified as Jeffery Jones, age 52) at the intersection of Post Street and Juarez Street in Napa.

Agents arrested Jeffery Jones for possession of heroin (1.1 grams), but Forbes fled the scene on his bicycle.

Agents pursued Forbes but were initially unsuccessful in arresting him for the sale of heroin.

Agents, with the assistance of the Napa Police Department, set a perimeter, obtained a search warrant for Forbes residence (located in the 800 block of 3rd Street) and served the search warrant.

Agents located Forbes inside his residence and arrested him for possession for sale of a controlled substance and for resisting arrest.

Napa city police arrested two men at about 11:45 Monday night, according to an arrest summary:

An officer was driving through an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Pueblo Ave., when he contacted Eduardo Marin (34 yrs. of Napa) and Omar Maldonado (22 yrs. of Napa).

Both individuals appeared to be intoxicated.

A search of Maldonado resulted in suspected methamphetamine being found in his pants pocket. Further investigation revealed that Marin had given Maldonado the methamphetamine.

Maldonado was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and Marin was arrested for distributing/furnishing a controlled substance. Both were booked into Napa County Department of Corrections.

Arrest information does not indicate convictions.
