Helicopter Search Rattles Napa Residents After Reported Stabbing

After a helicopter search Tuesday night left neighbors looking for answers, Napa police are still looking for a suspect in a reported stabbing at Maple and Pine streets.

 

In Facebook posts and comments on Patch, Napa residents in and around the "tree streets" neighborhood expressed concern about a police search Tuesday night that included overflights by the Napa CHP helicopter.

Napa Patch contributor Robert Peebles, Jr. heard on his police scanner that Napa police were investigating a stabbing at Maple and Pine Street.

"They are searching for the suspect. The victim got himself to the hospital," Peebles reported via text at about 9:15 p.m.

Apparently the  has also been hearing from rattled readers: The newspaper posted a brief item late Wednesday afternoon, saying the  continues to investigate the stabbing reported around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The Register article confirms that the CHP helicopter was in use for about 15 minutes and that the suspect is still at large.
