"He Barely Escaped": Fire Injures Two, Kills Pet
Firefighters from two agencies quelled the flames, which severely damaged a home on Sonoma Street, sent two people to the Queen and killed a pet.

City of Napa Fire Capt. Pat Wamsley said that according to the incident report, the victims' injuries did not appear to be serious and that a third person escaped through a back window in a dramatic rescue aided by City of Napa firefighters who arrived with a ladder truck.
"He barely escaped," Wamsley said. "The fire flashed over right after they pulled him out."

One animal died in the fire, Wamsley said, but he did not know whether it was a cat, dog or other pet.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, Wamsley said.
