Police Recapture Escaped Napa State Hospital Patient

A Napa State Hospital patient taken in handcuffs to Queen of the Valley Medical Center escaped Thursday afternoon and police briefly closed a north Napa road before recapturing him around 3 p.m.

A  patient escaped in handcuffs from  in Napa Thursday afternoon, causing police to lock down local medical offices as they searched for him.

Pear Tree Lane between Beard Road and Villa Lane was closed for a short time before the escapee, identified in the as a 23-year-old Hispanic man who had been brought to the Queen for an outpatient procedure, was taken back into custody at around 3 p.m.
