Grand Theft Alleged in Bicycle Heist

A 20-year-old man faces charges after stealing an expensive bike from a downtown Napa worker, according to police. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

 

A man whose bicycle was stolen in downtown Napa helped police arrest the suspected thief Tuesday night, according to a shift activity log from the :

A resident had his bicycle stolen from his workplace in downtown Napa after locking it and taking the front wheel into work.

He later saw the suspect on his bicycle at Lincoln and Soscol avenues.  

He summoned police, who located the suspect, 20 year old Simon Jacks. 

Jacks admitted he had stolen the bike by cutting the lock. He then took the bike to a local bike shop where he purchased a new front tire and wheel.  

Jacks was booked at the  on suspicion of grand theft over $950 and possession of stolen property, police said.

Sean Bacca, 18, also allegedly drank a sports drink without paying for it, Donaldson said. Simon Jacks, 19, allegedly was in possession of a controlled medication for which he did not have a prescription, he said. Bacca and Jacks were booked at about midnight into the Napa County jail on suspicion of burglary. Jacks was also booked on suspicion of being in possession of a controlled substance.

Interesting, Genji, thanks for adding this note. It's possible he was not convicted in the Walmart case, as no mention was made that he violated probation in this new arrest.
