A resident had his bicycle stolen from his workplace in downtown Napa after locking it and taking the front wheel into work.
He later saw the suspect on his bicycle at Lincoln and Soscol avenues.
He summoned police, who located the suspect, 20 year old Simon Jacks.
Jacks admitted he had stolen the bike by cutting the lock. He then took the bike to a local bike shop where he purchased a new front tire and wheel.
Jacks was booked at the on suspicion of grand theft over $950 and possession of stolen property, police said.
