Fugitive Riding Stolen Bike Arrested, Napa Police Say

Napa Valley Crime Stoppers fugitive Michael Jaquith, 25, was arrested Monday after police stopped him riding a bicycle they said turned out to be stolen from a Napa bike store. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

A 25-year-old Napa man recently named to the Napa Valley Crime Stoppers list of wanted fugitives is back in custody, according to an arrest summary from the City of Napa Police Department:

Officer observed Michael Jaquith riding a bicycle on California St., north of Lincoln Ave. 

Jaquith was known to have two warrants for his arrest. Jaquith was stopped and taken into custody.

During the investigation, officers discovered the bicycle he was riding had been reported stolen from a local bike store in Napa. 

Jaquith was transported and booked into Napa County Department of Corrections.

Jacquith had been listed as a fugitive for felony failure to appear on a charge of receiving stolen property.

According to his booking report from the county jail, he is also suspected of driving recklessly with alcohol involved (known as "wet reckless," a lesser charge than DUI), possession of known stolen property worth more than $400 and a prior prison enhancement.
