UPDATE: Fire Contained Near R.L. Stevenson Park; Hwy 29 Reopened

UPDATED: Monday, June 9, 6 p.m.

Firefighters have contained a one-acre fire this afternoon on state Highway 29 near Robert Louis Stevenson State Park in Napa County, a Cal Fire spokesman said.

The fire was reported at 3:20 p.m. and was contained at 4:05 p.m., the spokesman said. Firefighters from Napa, Calistoga and the Napa County Fire Department also responded.

Both directions of state Highway 29 at Tubbs Lane were shut down around 4:10 p.m. and reopened at 4:38 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Cal Fire crews are responding this afternoon to a one-acre fire on state Highway 29 near Robert Louis Stevenson State Park in Napa County.

The fire was reported around 3:40 p.m. and firefighters from Napa, Calistoga and the Napa County Fire Department also have responded.

Only the northbound lane of state Highway 29 at Tubbs Lane was open as of around 4 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
