Farm Crew Wakes Up Neighbors, Elder Fraud

Highlights from the St. Helena Police Department calls for service for Friday, October 19 and early Saturday, October 20.

Friday, October 19

11:10 Abuse.

A resident of Pope Street reported possible fraud and elder abuse. A report was taken and an investigation is ongoing.

4:45pm Reckless Driver.

Police pulled over a car that was seen weaving in and out of the roadway at Highway 29 at Rutherford. An officer pulled over the car and found an elderly male driver and no signs of intoxication. The driver was counseled on driving safely.

Saturday, October 20

12:40am Fraud/Scam.

A resident of Hunt Avenue said someone called her to tell her that grandson was involved in a collision and needed money. Family assisted in confirming grandson was fine and did not send money.

1:40am Noise.

Police responded to a home on McCorkle Avenue after neighbors complained about loud banging noise. Officers found three crews of laborers emptying metal bins into large metal gondolas.
