DUI, Child Endangerment Alleged in Crash Arrest
A 4-year-old girl escaped harm in a collision that landed her 35-year-old mother in jail after a trip to the hospital early Wednesday, according to CHP. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.
An early morning crash in northeastern Napa County Wednesday resulted in minor injuries to the driver and a DUI arrest, California Highway Patrol Officer Jake Ramos said.
In addition to the DUI, the driver, Jenae Hampton, 35, of Vallejo was also also arrested on suspicion of child endangerment, Ramos said. “Her 4-year-old daughter, who was not hurt, was also in the car.”
Ramos said it appeared the girl was in a child safety seat.

The crash happened at the intersection of Bennett Lane and Highway 128 at 4:45 a.m.
Hampton was driving a 2005 Kia, and as she approached the intersection, the Kia went off the road and plowed into a tree, Ramos said.

She was taken to St. Helena Hospital, Ramos said, where she was arrested after being checked for injuries.
Hampton was then taken to Napa and booked at the Napa County Department of Corrections.
"The little girl was taken to the CHP office in Napa, where her grandmother picked her up," Ramos said.
Ramos did not know if any alcohol or drugs were found in the Kia.
Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.
