A reported domestic violence assault on Wednesday led to the arrest of a 28-year-old Napa man the following day, according to a shift activity log released by the :
On 03/15/12 about 1400 hours an NPD Officer was assigned to investigate an alleged domestic violence incident.
The Officer learned the following as a result of the investigation:

On 03/14/12 the victim and the suspect, Ernesto Amezcua-Magana 28 years old of Napa, got into an argument in a residence in the 400 block of Adams Street in Napa.
The argument turned physical and Amezcua-Magana hit the victim in the face, covered her mouth, choked her and held her down on a bed.

The victim attempted to call the Police but Amezcua-Magana took the phone from her. The victim sustained visible injuries as a result of the assault.
Amezcua-Magana was arrested on Adams Street Thursday afternoon and booked at the on suspicion of domestic violence, false imprisonment and preventing phone communication, police said.
Amezcua-Magana was transported to NCDC and booked.
