Details on Weekend Bike Races & Possible Road Delays

The 45th annual “Davis Double Century” will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014, from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 

The event, a 200+ mile bicycle ride, begins and ends in Davis, entering Napa County and continuing into Lake County before looping back to Solano County.  The event is estimated to attract 700 riders and 50 spectators.

Participants will enter Napa County on Highway 128 at Monticello Dam.  Other Napa County roads involved include Lower Chiles Valley Road,        Chiles Pope Valley Road, Pope Valley Road & Butts Canyon Road.

The 2nd annual “DaVita ORCA Short Track” will be held Sunday, May 18, 2014, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The event is a bicycling event with 3 different distances: 15, 30 and 60 miles.  All will use the same 15-mile course and do different numbers of “laps.”  The event is estimated to attract 150 riders and 40 spectators.

Begininn at the DaVita Dialysis Center on Trancas in the City of Napa, the course heads through the City to Big Ranch Road.  From there, it continuess up Big Ranch to Oak Knoll, then up Silverado Trail as far as Pine Ridge Winery, where there will be a controlled turnaround.
