Crash on Hwy. 29 Ties Up Traffic All Morning

Big rig grape-hauler and car collide near Mondavi Winery.

A big rig grape-hauler and a car collided at about 7:15 a.m. Monday on Hwy. 29 north of Yountville, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP Sgt. William Bradshaw said the accident, which occurred on southbound Hwy. 29 near the Mondavi Winery between Yountville and Oakville Cross Road, was cleared at 9 a.m.

There was no word of serious injuries at the crash, which blocked traffic in all directions during the morning commute.

No information was immediately available on the cause of the crash or the motorists involved. CHP officers were still at the scene at 9:20 a.m. to investigate.

Monday morning accidents were also reported along Hwy. 37 in Solano County and a fatal crash on Hwy. 101 in Marin County at Atherton Avenue.

In Marin, the CHP closed Hwy. 101 at Atherton to investigate the crash. Traffic was being diverted onto Hwy. 37 eastbound.
