Contractor Sued over Atlas Peak Fire

After a fire destroyed their home last September, a winemaker and his wife are suing one of the contractors who were working on the house, according to the Napa Valley Register.

Winemaker Jayson Pahlmeyer and his wife have filed suit against the general contractor that was working on their Atlas Peak Road house when it was destroyed by fire last September, according to a report in Tuesday's .

Firefighters worked around the clock to control the blaze, which broke out Sept. 29 just days before the Pahlmeyers had planned to host a daughter's wedding on the property. The exact cause was never determined and fire investigators said it was accidental, according to the newspaper.

Pahlmeyer and his wife are suing Grassi Construction for $841,000, alleging breach of contract, breach of warranty and negligence, the newspaper reports.
