CHP Nabs Napan in Rohnert Park for DUI

Patrol officer chasing speeder on Todd Road, Santa Rosa, finally catches erratic driver

 

At 9:20 p.m Saturday California Highway Patrol Officer Marcus Hawkins was on patrol when he was advised of a citizen who phoned 911 reporting a possible DUI driver.

The officer was able to catch up to the suspect vehicle, which he observed at Todd Rd. in Santa Rosa traveling at approximately 80 mph.

While attempting to get into position for a traffic stop the officer observed the vehicle, a Honda Civic, make erratic lane changes, follow other vehicles too closely, and cut off other vehicles.

The officer pulled the Honda over at Wilfred Ave. in Rohnert Park and contacted the driver, identified as Erik Larsen, 43, of Napa.

A records check revealed that Larsen has a prior DUI conviction, a suspended license, and is currently on probation for DUI. Larsen failed field sobriety tests and was booked on charges of DUI, driving while suspended and violation of probation.
