#ButtsFire: Still Growing ... To 4,300 Acres on Thursday A.M.

A large wildland fire in northeast Napa County is showing no signs of stopping as the blaze has covered 4,300 acres and is only 30 percent contained as of this morning, according to Cal Fire.

The fire, which started shortly after noon Tuesday, has threatened nearly 400 homes and destroyed two homes and seven outbuildings, Cal Fire officials said.

The fire has spread northeast into Lake County toward Snell Peak, Cal Fire spokeswoman Stacie McCambridge said.

Mandatory evacuations are still in effect along Butts Canyon Road and for 180 homes in Berryessa Estates. Langtry Estate & Vineyard in Middletown in Lake County has also been advised to evacuate, McCambridge said.

Cal Fire officials said there are 800 fire personnel at the fire, located off of Butts Canyon Road in Pope Valley northwest of Lake Berryessa.

An evacuation center has been set-up at Middletown High School in Lake County, Cal Fire officials said.

There are 132 fire engines, 27 crews, six helicopters, 18 dozers and three water tenders at the scene, according to Cal Fire.
Fire departments from Alameda County are now assisting, and sent strike teams this morning.
