Bridge Denizen, Fugitive Arrested, Napa Police Say

Fugitive Roberto Gomez Ortega, 37, was jailed on suspicion of having meth and on warrants, while Christopher McComb, 35, is suspected of drug, paraphernalia and probation violations, Napa police say. Arrest information does not indicate convictions.

A fugitive wanted on three warrants and a man with a drug-related arrest history were taken into custody Monday evening on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine, according to a shift activity log from the . 

The first arrest took place under the Maxwell Bridge, according to the log:

On 08/06/12 about 1835 hours NPD Officers contacted the suspect, Christopher McComb 35 years old of Napa, under the Maxwell Bridge.

McComb was on active Napa County Probation with search and seizure terms.

McComb was in possession of suspected methamphetamine, a methamphetamine smoking pipe and Vicodin which he did not have a prescription for.

McComb was placed under arrest and during a booking search additional concealed suspected methamphetamine was located.

In addition to possession of a controlled substance, McComb faces charges of possession of paraphernalia, violation of probation and bringing a controlled substance into the jail, police said.

He was in April at Jefferson and D streets on suspicion of possessing methadone without a prescription, according to Napa police.

Monday's second arrest came after an 8:30 p.m. traffic stop, according to the log:

On 08/06/12 about 2030 hours an NPD Officer stopped the suspect, Roberto Gomez Ortega 37 years old of Napa, riding a bicycle in the 800 block of Jackson St. for a vehicle code violation.

Ortega had three outstanding warrants for his arrest, two of which were felony warrants.

A search of Ortega revealed a small amount of suspected methamphetamine.

Ortega was arrested and booked at the jail on suspicion of possession and for the outstanding warrants, police said.
