Boy, 14, Arrested on Knife, Gang Charges

The teenager was booked at the Napa County Juvenile Justice Center Thursday night, police said. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

 

A 14-year-old Napa boy was arrested late Thursday night on suspicion of possessing a dirk or dagger and participating in a criminal street gang, according to a shift activity log from the : 

An officer noticed a 14 year old juvenile riding his bike without a light near Soscol and Third St. The officer stopped the juvenile for the violation.

During the contact, the officer searched the juvenile, revealing a fixed blade knife concealed in his pocket. 

The minor admitted being a gang member and stated he had the knife for protection from the opposing gang.

The boy was booked at the following the 11 p.m. incident, police said.
