Bottle Truck Tip-Over Wrecks Commute

Southbound traffic was a nightmare this morning on Highway 29 south of the city. Here's why. By Bay City News Service.

A truck overturned on southbound state Highway 29 in unincorporated Napa County north of American Canyon this morning, spilling glass bottles onto the roadway, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The crash was reported shortly before 6:40 a.m. on southbound Highway 29 just north of state Highway 12, CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.

The truck was the only vehicle involved in the crash, and its driver was not injured, Anderson said.

A Caltrans sweeper truck was to clear the bottles out of the roadway, he said.

Southbound Highway 29 has been reopened, but traffic has remained slow through the morning commute.
