Beer Runner Arrested

A Yuba City man was jailed Thursday for snatching an 18-pack of beer, according to Napa police. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

Apparently possessing more thirst than cash, a 23-year-old Yuba City man was arrested early Thursday for burglary and driving with a suspended license after he was accused of stealing beer from a Trancas Street store, according to a shift activity log from the City of :

 On 04/19/12 about 0535 NPD Officers were dispatched to a business in the 1300 block of Trancas St. regarding a subject who entered the business, took an 18 pack of beer and fled without paying for the beer.

The reporting party provided a description of the vehicle the suspect fled in. An NPD Officer located the suspect’s vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at Lincoln Ave./Ida St. shortly after receiving the “BOL.” (Be on the Lookout—ed.)

The suspect, David Hacker 23 years old of Yuba City, was positively identified by the reporting party as the suspect that stole the beer. Hacker had no means to pay for the beer prior to entering the business. His driver’s license was suspended.

Hacker was booked at the , police said.

The log did not identify the retail establishment where the theft reportedly took place, but our Patch directory locates the as the only business listed in the 1300 block of Trancas Street. (apparently we need to add the Lucky supermarket—ed.)
