Napa Police Blotter: Burglary Arrests

One couple was busted on suspicion of vehicle burglary after their alleged victim followed their car to American Canyon; another man was jailed nearly a week after he allegedly stole merchandise from the Napa Walmart, police said.

A couple was arrested on suspicion of vehicle burglary after the victim followed the getaway car to American Canyon, according to an arrest summary from the City of Napa Police Department.

The incident happened about 1:40 p.m., Dec. 2, on Main Street in Napa. The alleged victim told police he saw a man, later identified as Oscar Monreal, 21, get inside his vehicle and remove property, police said.

Monreal then allegedly jumped into a waiting car, driven by Cecilia Carrasio and the two sped away, the press release said.

The alleged victim followed Monreal and Carrasio south to American Canyon where police made a traffic stop on the couple’s vehicle.

Monreal and Carrasio were arrested on suspicion of vehicle burglary and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections.

Walmart burglary alleged

On Nov. 26, police said Ian O’Connor went into Walmart on Lincoln Avenue, filled a cart with merchandise and fled the store with the items without paying for them, the press release said.

Employees chased the thief to the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue where they lost sight of him.

Police reviewed the video surveillance of the burglary and recognized O’Connor from previous run ins with the law, police said

On Dec. 2, officers located O’Connor near the intersection of Lincoln and Soscol avenues, where he was taken into custody.

He was arrested on suspicion of burglary and booked into NCDC.
